"Flirtin' with Disaster" is a song by the Southern Rock band Molly Hatchet with the flipside being "Gunsmoke". It is the only single from the band's second album of the same title. The song remained on the Billboard Hot 100 for 10 weeks, peaking at No. 42.

It was written by: Danny Joe Brown, Dave Hlubek, Banner Thomas

The song is Molly Hatchet's most famous, and has appeared in the films Suspect Zero, The Dukes of Hazzard, Straw Dogs, and Artie Lange's Beer League, and the video games NASCAR 98 and Rock Band. It has also appeared in My Name Is Earl, Supernatural and King of the Hill. The song is also alluded to in the title of a Season 2 episode of Danny Phantom.

A re-recorded version appears on the band's 2011 compilation Greatest Hits II.

The band "Molly Hatchet" was named after a Southern prostitute who allegedly beheaded and mutilated her clients.

Keith Wallin: @jerry Remember me telling you about being in some cover bands in my misspent youth?....lol That's what you do in a cover band.....find new material. I enjoy singing a whole slew of genres but not RAP....I suck at that....lol It's nice to shake things up once in awhile...lol This song was new to me, too, until yesterday. Glad you enjoyed it.
