This was written by the songwriting team of Dennis Lambert and Brian Potter, whose other works include the Four Tops' "Ain't No Woman (Like The One I've Got)," Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds' "Don't Pull Your Love (Out)," and Coven's "One Tin Soldier (The Legend of Billy Jack)."

Rob Grill of The Grass Roots explained at a concert that "Don't Pull Your Love" was intended for The Grass Roots, but they were about to release another single. So the songwriters crafted "Two Divided By Love" for The Grass Roots, which sounds somewhat similar to "Don't Pull Your Love." The Grass Roots perform "Don't Pull" in concert, since it was supposed to be their song.

As in the Grass Roots' previous hit "Sooner or Later," keyboardist Dennis Provisor shares the lead vocals with lead vocalist Rob Grill. In this song, he sings the very last lines of both verses and the bridge that comes after the verses and then improvises a soulful vocal during the repeating of the chorus.

Bev: @onefortheroad Hi Keith. I've always loved The Grass Roots music. Wonderful song and sing here. Loved my listen this morning. ♥♫
