You Raise Me Up was written in 2001 by Norwegian Rolf Løvland for his duo Secret Garden . It was originally intended as an instrumental version entitled Silent Song . Løvland's mother died during the production of the song, and so the piece was premiered in an instrumental version at her funeral. The song's lyrics were written by Irish writer and composer Brendan Graham at Løvland's request.
However, everyone has his or her own interpretation of a song. Although the lyric was without doubt beautifully written. Still, i found the repetition of the same chorus lyric 4 times is perhaps not quite quintessential. So i wrote 3 new chorus lyric to portrayal my own feeling for my parents. Words from my heart that i want them to know.
