Hi, everyone! We're celebrating our 40th anniversary in Alexandria, Virginia. We have a tradition that we go to a different state every year for our anniversary. This year we chose Virginia, largely because we love Washington DC and have been here many times. We've actually been spending a lot of time here in Alexandria, which is a beautiful upscale area with many great restaurants and shops. We did go to over to DC once so far for a Nationals game, and we went to Maryland to check out a waterfront area there. We're probably going to DC tomorrow morning (our last day) to take photos of the monuments, etc. We've been here before.... anyway, it was a great and fun trip. It went too fast! We went to karaoke tonight at a fun place in Arlington called Ireland's Four Courts. My husband loves Smithwick's, an Irish beer, so it was great for him. Karaoke started at 9. We're still being careful due to COVID, so we sat out on the patio. Unfortunately, the karaoke stage was nowhere near us, and we couldn't hear the music out there, so I had to keep going in and checking to see when I was up next. The KJ was great and put the names up on the screen so we would know when we were coming up. But it was just kind of boring out on the patio, after we finished dinner. It was very crowded indoors and I only got two sing 2 songs in 2 hours. So we left around 11... It was a super fun crowd, though, and they loved singing along. You will probably hear them more than me! It was hilarious to me that they were singing out really loudly and drunkenly. I grew up singing The Carpenters, but I rarely sing them in live karaoke. I've only done this one once before, with Live Band karaoke years ago at the Palms in Vegas, and they played it at a much higher key. For this one, I brought it up just two half steps, since it's so low.
