Tim McGraw sings here of his roots and preference for the simpler things in life. When the Louisiana-raised singer first heard the Jeremy Stover, Chris Janson and Jamie Paulin penned tune, it painted a picture for him of his home community.

"It was very reminiscent of my hometown, where I grew up," he told Taste of Country. "There was a cotton gin in my hometown. I worked in bean fields and cotton fields and rice fields as a kid. Some of my earliest memories were sort of that visual of that song."

"How I'll Always Be" was released on July 11, 2016, as the third single from McGraw's fourteenth studio album Damn Country Music.
