"You're My Jamaica" is a song written by Kent Robbins, and recorded by American country music artist Charley Pride.
It was released in July 1979 as the first single and title track from the album You're My Jamaica.
The song was Pride's twenty-second number one country hit.
The single stayed at number one for one week and spent a total of ten weeks on the country chart.
My wife, daughter, son-in-law and I went to see Charley Pride in concert in Wichita Falls, TX in early 1979.
He performed this song and said it was coming out on his new album.

@cash Charley Belafonte....now that's funny!!....lol. He put this out in 1979 and I was very fortunate to be in his audience when he first released it. Man, he put on one heck of a fine show. Talked with the audience between songs. Just an overall terrific experience to sit and listen to. Glad to introduce this song to you and I'm glad you enjoyed my take on it. Have a great night....:-)

@starlyter Thanks, Brad! His was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. He was quite the quintessential showman. I had not heard this song until he performed it for us back in 1979. The lyrics are great and it has a catchy beat. Glad you enjoyed my take on it......:-)
