From Peter Pan, adapted by Q as an instruction while in Florida, it pertains to alligators too.

Jerry: I captivated the attention of a 400 pound 'gater' (in the wild). While under my 'spell' I stripped her leather. She gasped as she crossed her 'arms' across her chest. Her mate (husband) charged at me, snapping her leather from my gripping hands. She took the leather back to her exposed area. I gave them my regrets walking, no jogging, back to the woods. She followed me, telling of her love for what I had done. Today we have 3 lovely hugatters who snap at me.

Qwilleran: @jerry Thank you. Do you know that Florida is probably the only state that has real alligator hide on the highway? That's what we call tire strips left by shredding tires. I bet you know that.
