The Wild Side of Life" is a song made famous by country music singer Hank Thompson. Originally released in 1952, the song became one of the most popular recordings in the genre's history, spending 15 weeks at number one on the Billboard country chart,[1] solidified Thompson's status as a country music superstar and inspired the answer song, "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels" by Kitty Wells.[2] In 1999, the song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.[3]

Jerry: Hank was a dear personal friend right up to his death. I miss him to this day. I recorded his (this) song long ago. We'd go to live shows together and he was always asked to come to the stage where he would do a song with the large audience clapping and yelling to him. Great guy! You've sung his song so very well...he'd have loved it. P.S He gave me his favorite $1,500 show hat. It sits , as a great memory, in my closet, in a hat box.
