"Horses in Heaven" is a new song by Randy Travis released in January 2025, featuring an AI-generated reproduction of his voice. The song, written by Jon Randall and Matt Nolen, is a tribute to Travis's lifelong love for horses and their therapeutic impact on him. It's the second song released using AI to recreate Travis's voice, following "Where That Came From" in 2024.

Travis has a deep connection to horses, having been raised around them since childhood, and his late father, Harold Traywick, was a horse trainer.

The song was released alongside a lyric video showcasing archival footage of Travis with horses. It received positive reception, Rolling Stone noting it as a heartfelt and deeply personal track.

Keith Wallin: @tony Thanks, Tony. This one was released in January using AI. I think it’s great that Randy can still be releasing new music after his stroke. Appreciate you, my friend

Brad Mayo: It's amazing that they are doing with AI but I wonder how this trend with affect the artists still producing authentic music vs computer generated music. Music recordings remain timeless and genuine pieces of art. Can you honestly say that about computer generated anything.Just my opinion. Keith, you are sounding terrific my friend..

Keith Wallin: @onefortheroad Hey, Brad! Thanks for the listen and the props! They are greatly appreciated. I feel the same way about AI. In the future, we won't be able to hear the difference between real artistry and computer generated music. In Randy's case, I think it is well warranted to use AI because he cannot sing for himself anymore but with other artists and all the thieves out there, I wonder what's in store for all of us.....:-)
