Hi, everyone! We're up in Portland, Maine, for our 43rd anniversary. We went out to a bar here called East Ender that is way too small, and it got very loud and crowded. The people who work there clearly have no idea how to use their equipment, and they needed a second sound system, so it was distressing. There were NO background vocals, which was very annoying. On the plus side, most of the singers were great (some of them Broadway quality). Even though most were in their 20's or 30's, they sang quite a few older songs and enjoyed my "oldies." I tried not to do too many really old songs, though.

I sang this one, which I haven't done in a long time, because she's the only famous singer I know (whose song I know) that's from Maine. I also sang "On the Radio" by Donna Summer (who's from Connecticut) and "Heads Carolina, Tails California" by Jo Dee Messina, who's from Massachusetts. Not that the crowd noticed, and I didn't bother mention it. Anyway, it was a nice group of youngsters, and they liked my songs. I had fun. I just couldn't stay too long because it got to be too loud and crowded for us. Also, I left my glasses behind, so I'm very annoyed with myself. I hope someone found them, so I can get them tomorrow (we leave Friday).
