Released in October 1972, "Pass Me By (If You're Only Passing Through)" was Johnny Rodriguez's debut single, peaking at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in January 1973.
Written by Hillman Hall, it made Rodriguez the first Mexican-American country star to break the top ten.
The song spent 18 weeks on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
Written by Hillman Hall, who was the brother of country star Tom T. Hall.
Featured on his debut album, Introducing Johnny Rodriguez (1973).
Known as a pedal steel-laden, "classic country soul" track.
It became a country standard, later covered by artists including Janie Fricke (1980).
Tom T. Hall discovered Rodriguez at the Alamo Village tourist attraction and helped him launch his career in Nashville.
The success of "Pass Me By" earned him the Academy of Country Music's "Most Promising Artist" award.
The song was also recorded by many other artists, with at least 35 versions existing.

@dondelray Thanks, Don! It seems strange to think of 70s music as being old classic Country but, I guess it is now….lol. I always thought of the 40s and 50s as being Old Country but, I guess that's my old age showing….lol. Appreciate the listen and the props a lot. Have an awesome weekend, buddy….:-)
