"Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" by The Animals is a definitive blues rock classic released in 1965 on their album Animal Tracks. While many associate the track entirely with the British Invasion group, it was originally written by Bennie Benjamin, Horace Ott, and Sol Marcus for jazz/soul icon Nina Simone, who recorded the original version in 1964.
