I wrote this, by the date on my file, back in 1961. I've recorded it, mixed with the classic piano piece, "Moonlight Sonata" by Ludwig van Beethoven.
Perhaps you'll enjoy my arrangement.

And Then

I gaze upon her golden hair,
as I relax up on my chair.

And I wonder, how I should feel,
Were she a dream and not for real.

To find a dream and then to wake.
To find a love and have her fake.

If you were me and had a gleam,
And then to find her just a dream

What would you do to answer this?
Do give your love and then to miss.

Without a Trace,
For years on end her lovely face.

Do you learn to hold and cannot touch,
The one you love so very much.

You'll struggle hard for all your life,
To find the one to be your wife.

To raise a son and daughter too
And still retain her love for you.

Through all the years of married life,
They'll be but one sweet loving wife.

When through the years your love has grown,
Along with love your seed was sown.

With children grown and married too,
There's nothing left for you to do.

And still you gaze and wonder still,
And yet you know you always will.

And then it's time for you to wake,
Then dreams are gone for your namesake

Dreams do vanish but never fear,
For she is real and always near.

And if you know that she is, for sure,
Her love for you is always pure.

And then you know that dreams come true,
For those who know just what to do.
