From Lucinda Williams 2001 self-titled album 'Blue'. 'Blue' is the color of night Lucinda Williams is known to defend her reputation as a control freak, but sometimes even she admits it's better to take a step back, which was the case with this song. She told Guitar World Acoustic: "I wanted to go back and recut my vocal for 'Blue' because I thought it sounded scratchy and tired. But when I tried, I had to admit that what was already there felt right for the song."

Lucinda has a weak back due to a birth defect called Spina bifida, a congenital disorder affecting the spinal cord, she inherited from her father. Some sufferers have partial or total paralysis in their legs, but Lucinda finds that when she gets tired if she has to stand for long periods of time, but brings her songs out in the open with tanacity and vigor. I've always loved her songs for they are a part of me. She always has put out great music.

I truly believe within her heart that she, too is such a passionate artist in which reflects her vocals. I love her and she's one of my all time favorite singers. This song has always touched me. I sang this and something out of the clear 'Blue', felt a need to share this with you, keeping in mind that we all go through 'battle's' within ourselves and we have to find it within our lives to 'listen' to your inner voice and learn how to get through these so called battle's. I will admit it, when I hear this song, in which is very special to me, the lyrics are just so true that they ring in my ears and yes, I do cry at times. I thank you for your listens, I appreciate it when I can touch someone in the audience and believe me, I can also feel your pain. Once again, thank you so much. Have a lovely day and night.

Love, Dee1 xoxoxo
