A contemplation by Q. A pondering, wondering moment.
Let it creep up on you.
As I contemplate the lowly snail
It is without fail, slow and frail
An easy prey for that, that which lies in wait
It may be food for some or for another only bait.
A snail leaves a trail, as it looks for leaves
Found in the garden and found in sheaves.
The snail has many variations of size and type
They don't have a time of being ripe.
Find and pick them, get a lot
After gathered prepare a pot,
Into the pot, remove from shell,
With the shell, some may tell.
season with garlic and soy
Those that like them, will enjoy.
Of this I ponder
and of this, I wonder
Of the desire to consume such
When of other foods, there are so much.
There are many types, species, of snail
none so fast as to our delivered mail.
Traveling inches a minute, or yards in days
Fastest when on pavement in the hot sun's rays.
When and how to eat them, after roiling
several minutes in water, boiling
Seems there are parasites that wait
To enter your system, snail is the bait
I ponder, wonder, contemplate
Truly, with much thought, I don't want them on my plate.
