This is a three cord easy to learn the song on just about any instrument. It was as the first song by learned playing guitar. It was in my sophomore year in high school. We formed a band. Our first gig was a catholic high school. We hooked up everything onstage. It was an outdoor stadium. Kids were walking all around the campus. When we started playing the song that was almost like somebody had them with a stun gun. I'm not trying to bragg but it was quite funny. I guess they were not allowed to hear outside music. When we started playing Gloria, the kids started piling into the stadium. There were a couple of nuns in the background. Once they noticed the kids congregating into the stadium, and I guess the nuns didn't like the song, we get about a third way into the song, and we didn't notice that the nuns had circled around our back and pulled the plugs and suddenly we were playing air guitars!
