"She Wouldn't Be Gone" is a song written by Jennifer Adan and Cory Batten and recorded by American country music singer Blake Shelton. It was released in August 2008 as the first single from Shelton's 2008 album Startin' Fires. The song became Shelton's fifth number one hit on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in February 2009.

When he recorded the song, Shelton said that he had "been able to dump more emotion into that vocal" than any of his previous
material.
All\Music's Steve Leggett, considered it the strongest track on Startin' Fires, saying that it was "a brilliant portrayal of a man who finally finds his passion and love for a woman when it's way too late and she's already gone, and the chorus swells to passionate, almost white-knuckle perfection. It's a great song and Shelton gives it everything."

Toni Tibbs: @onefortheroad Recently I found myself wondering if I would ever again hear a song that would give me chills or choke me up because I realized it had been way too long and hoped something wasn't wrong with me. I'd never heard this song before, and I tell ya it snuck up like a sucker punch honestly, partly because I hadnt braced for it,, but mostly because you belted out beautifully a very powerful, courageously revealing song sprinkled with heart- wrenching pain perfectly sticking the landing!

Toni Tibbs: @onefortheroad also I'm happy to report that I listened (and teared up) several times just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Cancelling therapy appt now. I'm totally fine, so thank you for this. ❤️

Keith Wallin: @tonishow WOW! Toni, what a truly, incredible response to a song! Whether I am up on stage with a band or simply recording in front of my computer, I feel like an actor does trying to emotionally connect with the audience....not just sing 99 bottles of beer on the wall....lol....if that makes sense. In this case, I tried to put myself in this guy's shoes...being stupid enough to los the love of his life while frantically running around the country looking for her!

Keith Wallin: @tonishow I'm glad you didn't suffer any permanent damage....lol. Songs can emotionally connect with us at a level we don't even realize. I remember the first Time I heard John Michael Montgomery's song "The Little Girl"....I was bawling like a baby before it was over. Glad you enjoyed my cover and I'm glad you don't need therapy...Ha! Stay safe....:-)
