Blake Shelton just released a modern country-gospel song called "Jesus Got a Tight Grip" that he co-wrote with the same woman who helped him with his last holy hit.
Jessi Alexander joins Shelton, Chase McGill and Rhett Akins as co-writers on "Jesus Got a Tight Grip," a song released to digital service providers on Tuesday (Oct. 15, 2019). She also co-wrote "Savior's Shadow" with him for his If I'm Honest album (2016), comparing it to Kris Kristofferson's "Why Me Lord?"

I'm glad you think I'm a star quality singer but, the truth is there are literally 1000s of great singers, like Jerry in this country, that never get a shot at the big time. I am just content to perform my songs for my karaoke friends. After awhile, you folks are like my second family....lol Appreciate you, my friend....:-)

@jerry 1 Corinthians 10:13 "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." I think the lyrics reflect respect to our Lord for never abandoning us in our times of strife. Singing it lifted my spirits.

@tonishow That's great, Toni. Personally, I sing all genres of music from 40s Big Band to 50s Rock and Roll, 60s/70s/80s Rock and of course Country music. I'm glad you are expanding your horizons. Break out of that plain Vanilla mode and experience Rocky Road, Chocolate Mint and Pistachio....lol Glad you are enjoying it here. We are glad to have you and your Mom here with us. Lol I really do like LOTS of different kinds of music, I'm not as familiar with the newer country artists as you or any genre as you are, but listening to your songs is a great way to remedy that.
