George, his son Bubba and Dean Dillon (a prolific songwriter for a ton of people including hits like Marina Del Ray and The Chair) wrote this song together.

I loved it the first time I heard it and wanted to cover it.

I have been a Patrol Volunteer with my local Police Department for 10 years. During that time I have worked with a lot of great men and women in uniform serving our community.

The song they wrote told the story of one policeman. So, I rewrote the lyrics to include a woman in the song as well. There are tons of great men and women in law enforcement serving our cities, counties and country. I wanted to include them all.

Check out George's live performance of this song. He dedicated this song to all law enforcement people in the audience and elsewhere. That's what gave me the idea to dedicate my cover as well.

Toni Tibbs: @onefortheroad very pretty and quite a thoughtful song of appreciation. There are, no doubt, shady characters in EVERY profession so if everyone isn't perfect on the job doesn't lessen the courage and selflessness most of these people demonstrate and do so without the income (in my opinion) or the gratitude they are deserving of. Nice song, Keith. ❤️

Aragorn: @onefortheroad I support them 100% as well, Keith. They're the people running toward trouble while the rest of us are running away. They're not perfect, but they overwhelmingly do good things. If they ever need me, I will stand by their side. Great sing, buddy!

Keith Wallin: @tonishow Thanks, Toni! In this day and time the media jumps on stories where there is an officer involved shooting ....and rightfully so. However they tend to continue reporting over and over and over whenever the cops involved were wrong. But they may not even report dozens of officer involved shootings when the officers were justified in doing so. You are absolutely right about them being underpaid. Keith Wallin: @sirsnapalot Thanks Ian. I work with some pretty incredible cops on a regular basis and I am sick and tired of our media constantly berating them as bad guys. But guess who the media calls when they are in danger? The media makes me want to hurl! Appreciate the listen and the commentary! Have a super upcoming weekend, my friend....:-)

However, when officers do good, you rarely hear a peep out of the media. Why is that? Appreciate you dropping in to listen and I enjoyed reading your comments and concur with everything you said.
