Back in January of this year, I lost one of my very good friends from karaoke nights at the pub. He had contracted Covid-19, and it finally beat him. He was a huge fan of Gerry Marsden, having seen him perform live on several occasions. One of his favourite songs to sing was "You'll never walk alone", a song which Marsden himself released a special version of in 2020, in tribute to the National Health Service, as the unrelenting cruelty of the covid pandemic decimated the world. Marsden died on the 3rd January 2021, little over two weeks before my friend succumbed to this ruthless virus. It therefore seems fitting that I honour his memory with a Gerry & The Pacemakers song. I hope you enjoy it.
