Hope Irving is not un-nerving to hear as, this is another of his ancient tunes.
Created with VR of a recording, by Stephen Bogardus. The song was first published - 1917.

When the morn bids me rise
And I open my eyes
I begin Dear with a sweet thought of you
Then the rest of the day
While at work or at play
I'm thinking, just thinking of you

How can I forget
When there's so much to remember?
Your smiling face, your fond embrace
Your voice so sweet and tender

After all these years
I'm afraid I love you yet

When there's so much to remember
How can I forget? How can I forget?

Through the heart-breaking years
I have smiled through my tears
To have met you is well worth the pain
Though we've drifted apart
You'll remain in my heart
As long as my heart will remain

How can I forget
When there's so much to remember?
Your smiling face, your fond embrace
Your voice so sweet and tender
After all these years
I'm afraid I love you yet

When there's so much to remember
How can I forget?
How can I forget?

Jerry: @qwirky Well, it may sound simple: Just contract Alzheimer's and BINGO! But don't go there...keep remembering and telling her either by speaking to her or using sign language should she lose her hearing. OK, my work here it finished....YOU'RE WELCOME! LOL Cererally, (Cherrios is the best) just keep loving her. You recordings are so clear and superbly well delivered Rich....I love the genre' you use too!!

Thomas Lyle Stephens: tlsteelman My wife says the same to me; you can't remember anything because you have too much to remember! I have no idea of what she means! Anyhoo...Love these old songs that we don't remember. And your cover of it was terrific!

You sang this with such passion and compassion that very ounce of your being was heartfelt indeed my dear and wonderful friend. I know I shall never forget this song and your outstanding performance. You're such a gentleman indeed, Rich. Thank you for sharing this with us. I feel honored that I've met you so many years ago. Beautifully done as always. Love, Dee xox

Qwilleran: @jerry Thank you Jerry. There are hundreds of Belin's songs I can attempt. Most I've never heard but thanks to the net and YouTube I can attempt more. Once hearing them, I enjoy adapting them for here.
