Adaptation of Irving Belin's adaptation of;
That Mesmerizing Mendelssohn Tune is a fun, tantalizin’, hypnotizin’, mesmerizin’ turn-of-the-20th-century ragtime-style song by Irving Berlin (1888-1989), based on a theme from Felix Mendelssohn’s (1809-1847) Spring Song.

"That Mesmerizing Mendelssohn Tune"

Honey, listen to that dreamy tune they're playin'
Won't you tell me how on earth you keep from swayin'?
Umm! Umm! Oh, that
Mendelssohn Spring Song tune

If you ever loved me show me now or never
Lord, I wish they'd play that music on forever
Umm! Umm! Oh, that Mendelssohn tune,

My honey

Love me to that ever lovin' Spring Song melody
Please me, honey, squeeze me to that Mendelssohn strain
Kiss me like you would your mother
One good kiss deserves another
That's the only music that was ever meant for me.

That tantalizin', hypnotizin',
mesmerizin' Mendelssohn tune

Bridge

Don't you stand there, honey,
can't you hear me sighin'?
Is you gwine to wait
until I'm almost dyin'?
Umm! Umm! Oh, that
Mendelssohn Spring Song tune
Get yourself acquainted with
some real live wooin'
Make some funny noises
like there's something doin'
Umm! Umm! Oh, that Mendelssohn tune,

My honey

Bridge

Love me to that ever lovin' Spring Song melody
Please me, honey, squeeze me to that Mendelssohn strain
Kiss me like you would your mother
One good kiss deserves another
That's the only music that was ever meant for me

That tantalizin', hypnotizin',
mesmerizin' Mendelssohn tune

That tantalizin', that hypnotizin',
mesmerizin' Mendelssohn tune

Jerry: @qwirky You mention a "Bridge" and "Your Honey" I don't need to know what you and your honey were doing on that bridge, but I do like to look and photos if you have any?

Qwilleran: @jerry Well, I do have photos of a bridge and on a bridge. The bridge in Paris, where all the locks were and have been removed. Perhaps I should have describe the instrumental parts as a vocal gaps. ?

Qwilleran: @jerry Thank you Jerry, for being confused. It has me feeling better as I'm lost at sea most of the time. My compass doesn't guide me properly. I do have some hearing assistants, but because people won't speak clearly, they don't do a great job. You sing clearly and I enjoy the clarity.
