Back in July, I lost one of my closest friends to cancer. Her hospital appointments had been repeated cancelled due to "covid"... I am convinced that she would have lived longer had this not happened, and it makes me both deeply sad and incandescent with anger at the thought of countless other examples of true covid deaths that were completely avoidable. My friend was not a huge fan of Christmas but she never failed to deliver festive cheer wherever she was. I miss her dearly and this first festive season without her is tremendously unreal. She was an amazing singer and enjoyed karaoke. This song is one of the many she liked to sing, and has a certain poignancy to it. Suffice to say within her circle of close friends I am hugely grateful that she indeed let me be there.
