Bill had several songs that charted during his career. He was a long standing member of the Grand 'Ole Opry and was great friends with Red Foley. He was billed as the Tall Texan. @jerry That's cool that you got to meet him and get to know him. Back in the late 70s, I sang with a band called Alias Smith and Jones. The bass player was Voda Mae Smith and her husband, John Jones was the lead guitar player. They would get gigs all over North Texas and Lynnand I would travel around with them and they always let me sing at every venue. Moe Bandy had a whole slew of songs and we sang quite a few of them.
